Pecans & Walnuts

Posted on 20.11.2024

In Mexico, the harvesting of the new Pecan crop started in recent weeks. The first reports suggest that the quality is not as good as expected, which could lead to a price increase.
In the US, the new pecan harvest will begin in late November or December, following the first frost. There is still some speculation about the outcome: good quality is anticipated in New Mexico, while in Georgia, poorer quality is expected due to adverse weather conditions, including the impact of Hurricane Helene. The upcoming weeks will bring more clarity on quality and price levels.

For Walnuts, the situation in the US is marked by a significant reduction in supply. Many farmers have removed their trees in response to years of low prices. This has created a current shortage, driving market prices higher.
